Rocket Languages is the leading “learn a language” company… yeah, I couldn’t think of a better way to describe what they do. It looks like “Rocket Arabic” is one of their newer programs but I’m not sure… either way, I needed to learn Arabic, came across their fancy website and here we are. I’m kind of weirded out; I’m not much of a writer but I’ll try my best…
There are two difference versions of the program – a hard copy and a digital version. I went with the digital version, mainly because I don’t like waiting for stuff but also because it’s A LOT cheaper… like $200 cheaper. So unless you’re totally loaded and have money bursting out of your wallet, I’d encourage you to go with the digital version…
So like right after you buy it you get access to over 11 hours of audio… it’s a bunch of stuff but it’s structured so you know where to start and where to finish… it’s not just a bunch of files thrown together. You get transcripts for the audio too so you can follow along – I thought that was pretty awesome because I’m more of a visual learner.
There’s some other stuff like a vocabulary game, some lessons to help you write Arabic, a game to help you understand spoken Arabic, etc. I don’t know if you need to write Arabic or not but that was one of my “requirements” and Rocket Arabic came through. I’m writing Arabic pretty well now, still some rough parts where I have to “consult the manual” but I’m getting better.
These “games” and the other stuff make for killer references, even if you don’t need to use them right away.
One thing I really dig is the “members only forum and support” they include. It’s basically like having 24/7 access to a teacher. The few times I needed help I made use of this stuff… the responses were quick and helpful.
I don’t know what else to say about Rocket Arabic, really… I dig it and I’ve been progressing/getting the results I want. I think it might be for you too but no one (but you) can say for sure. They offer a 60 day money back guarantee so there’s really no harm giving it a try.
